ABOUT   AUDREY

Welcome to Audrey Rose Vocals!

About Me—I'm Audrey, a passionate singing teacher, original songwriting artist, singer, live performer, performance mentor and vocal coach! I’m dedicated to helping you discover and develop your true voice and artistic personality in a fun, supportive environment.

Growing up in the little coastal town of Lennox Head, right next to Byron Bay, I was immersed in music and creativity from a young age through the creative community of people drawn to my little beach town.

I began my love for singing and songwriting at just six years old (sorry Mum!). Growing up, I lived and breathed musical theatre, performing in over 15 productions across the northern rivers, with many leading roles such as Grizabella in Cats, and Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. During this time, I was also developing 10years of training in many other vocal styles, such as pop, soul, classical and jazz.

When I moved to Queensland, I put focus on my original artist journey, dedicating myself to songwriting, releasing music, live performing technique, regular gigging and finding my unique voice as an artist to pursue my career. (P.S. I still LOVE teaching musical theatre kids! Back to my roots!)

My Qualifications—Over the years, I’ve poured myself into learning everything I can to become the best singer and vocal coach possible. I’ve completed two degrees from the QLD Conservatorium of Music: a Bachelor of Popular Music, where I honed my skills in performance, songwriting, production, and more, and a Master’s in Music Studies, majoring in vocal pedagogy and anatomy, rounding my knowledge of voice to have both a live performing artistic view, as well as an anatomical, efficiency and vocal health-based view. My mentors include some of the best in the field, such as renowned singing teacher Irene Bartlett, who was a pioneer of Contemporary Commercial Singing Pedagogy in Australia, and Ron Morris, a renowned Speech Therapist and Audiologist, and Classical singer.

I teach a range of students, from six-year-olds just finding their voices to seasoned performers in their sixties, across genres such as pop, musical theatre, jazz, country, indie, and more.

My approach is holistic—I blend vocal anatomy and mental health insights to create a “voice gym” where we work out the mind and body together. Your voice is a muscle, and like any muscle, it needs care and efficient form to grow. My lessons are designed to be a safe space, where you can explore your creativity, build confidence, become a true singing artist, and heal through music.

Using our Anatomy—I believe it is important to have an awareness of our body map, utilising our muscles, fascia, skeletal system and breathing functions to better our voice. Using the knowledge of our human body function, I can teach someone how to sing in the most healthy, efficient and long-lasting way possible.

Mental Health Awareness—I’m passionate about empowering others who, like me, have faced challenging experiences. Growing up in a home impacted by domestic violence, I now strive to be a safe place for my students, offering a creative outlet where joy and expression thrive, and teaching my students how to utilise our experiences to better our voice, performance and artistry.

My Personal Vocal influences—Include iconic voices like Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Norah Jones, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish and more.

I bring soulful, powerful energy into everything I do. Whether you’re a beginner or advanced, we’ll explore your potential together and find the magic in your voice.

Let’s get started—your voice journey awaits at Audrey Rose Vocals!
